MUSE is a public space microarchitecture system. Starting from a point of inquiry around outdoor dining scenarios at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the opportunities for use reach beyond dining into outdoor study spaces, workspaces, and leisure.

The design was developed through consideration of the efficient use of sheet material and Forms + Surfaces manufacturing capabilities. The development of a grid was the first step in creating opportunities for a system.

My main goal was to develop a body of research around the concept. From gathering references to exploring spatial diagramming and modeling, I came to create a series of configuration opportunities for each use case proposal.
