Appearances: Collection I

PROJECT TYPE: FASHION & ACCESSORIES
A collection of summertime garments and accompanying jewelry that represent essences of inherited maternal identities.

Fashion design, pattern development, and garment construction by Drea Favorito.
Accessory design, content development & photography by Cecelia Favorito.

We come from a heritage of designers. In the spaces they gridded we found the rhythms of their symphony. Intuitively, we have found the spirit of our hands that strives to create.

Our first collection has sprouted from underlying patterns of our lives that trace back to the drawings laid before our time. We see, more and more, the results of considerations towards our appearances.

Collection I

Drea evolves with a gift for sewing that can only be explained by divinity of maternal powers.

And all I want to do is play with materials and make visual poetry.

Our partnership is intuitive. Something through us -- only found in sisterhood.

With our grandmother, designed arrangements were not just of the spaces she curated but also her presentation of self and expression of identity. Our mother recalls the sound of her heels clicking on the wooden floors of their Pittsburgh home after taking her time to get ready. She dressed elegantly, investing in a timeless wardrobe and accompanying pieces to adorn her. She liked being seen.

Through her passing, we inherited her collection of belts. The centerpiece of my accessories, I created one I think she would have worn. She connected us with the horizon in many ways -- the lake, our futures, and our own personal centers.

Our mother imprinted us with the idea that our identities are what we make.

And that we can make anything.
